Most of the time I'm using the end of the cutter (the 1st 20 to 60 thouhs) and when that gets dull, I simply use the bench grinder to hand sharpen the end; grind it back & put the reliefs on (without reducing the diameter). For end mills 1/2" in diameter & greater, this works well.
